The official name of the country is the Republic of South Africa, it has a territorial area of ​​1,219,090 km2 divided into nine provinces.

It has a population of 53 million inhabitants, about 80% of the population is black.

South Africa has three capitals, Pretoria (administrative capital), Cape Town (legislative capital) and Bloemfontein (judicial capital). Johannesburg is considered the economic and financial center.


South Africa has 11 official languages, Afrikaans, English, IsiNdebele, IsiSwati, IsiXhosa, IsiZulu, Sepedi, Sesoto, Setswana, Tshivenda and Xitsonga. The name of its currency is the rand.

The main religions are Protestantism (80%), Catholicism (7.1%) and Islam (1.5%) mainly. Regarding its form of government, South Africa is a parliamentary re-public where the President is the Head of State and Government. The National Assembly elects him for a period of five years with the possibility of being re-elected for a second term.📣

The country has more than 290 conservation parks. It is home to almost 300 mammal species, about 860 bird species and 8000 plant species. The annual sardine run is the biggest migration on the planet.
